Shenton Park	Surrounded by the upmarket suburbs of Subiaco, Nedlands and Claremont and bordered by the fabulous Kings Park; Shenton Park has much to offer as a travel destination. Favoured by young professionals, the suburb has several quality restaurants such as Galileo's and Star Anise, and stylish cafes situated in the Onslow Road shopping precinct. Shenton Park shares many of Subiaco's attributes, including a similar housing mix of weatherboard workers' cottages, grand townhouses, renovated warehouses and factories, and the occasional federation home. Shenton Park is a well established suburb and has a luxurious green-garden feel with it's many parks, mature bottlebrush trees lining the narrow streets that run off Onslow Rd to the south and peppermint trees along verges to the north. The residential part of the suburb, situated between Aberdare Rd, Nicholson Rd and Thomas St, also has two outstanding parks -- Shenton Park itself with its picturesque lake (now renamed Lake Jualbup) and Rosalie Park, which comes alive at weekends with lacrosse, soccer, footy, cricket and tennis. This is where Rosalie Park Kindergarten and Primary School are. Shenton Park is a friendly and relaxed place with a strong community feel. On the western side of the railway is Shenton College, a purpose-built high school established in 2000.  The University of Western Australia is located only minutes away in Nedlands. Also in these bushy surrounds are a teaching and rehabilitation hospital, which includes a health science campus belonging to Curtin University, two private hospitals and the offices of a number of health associations. The suburb is really spoilt for medical facilities. Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, with its outpatients department, is a short walk across Rosalie Park. Shenton Park railway station is nearby and Onslow Rd is on the CircleRoute that feeds Subiaco.
